A husband of one, a dad of three, a creator of art.
I remember getting an art set when I was very young - it opened up the world to me. It enabled me create things I would never see with my own eyes and helped me to explain things I couldn’t say with my own words.
I’ve always had a deep curiosity about the world, art, music, science, nature, the cosmos - how it all fits together and why things are the way they are. My art gives me a voice to describe this world, a way to interpret and make sense of it.
I love starting a piece of art with a general idea in my head, a visual goalpost to aim for - but I rarely end up where I intend to. Instead I find my work takes its own direction once I set it in motion. The destination is always a surprise and I enjoy being a passenger on the journey.
I mix up my love of Cork with some other things that have influenced my life, from simple everyday observations to the far out mad stuff, sometimes with a dose of sarcasm and humour. I like to create art that means something to me, that makes me feel emotionally connected to something deeper - and gives me a sense of my place in the world.
My art brings a smile to my face when I hang it on my wall and I hope it does the same for you :-)
